Estimating Ethos An experiment in computable rhetoric

Estimating Ethos (EE) is a project I began in the fall of 2007 to try to develop software that could produce useful heuristic estimates of an author's ethos in social writing networks. It was suggested by Bill Hart-Davidson and is being developed in conjunction with the WIDE Center at Michigan State University.

Some of the materials related to the EE project, in its role as part of my MA coursework, are available elsewhere on, in my portfolio. This page is a repository for public EE materials, such as the presentation (PDF) I gave at Computers & Writing 2008.
